The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is a not-for-profit corporation that promotes world understanding through international humanitarian service programs and educational and cultural exchanges. It is supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and others who share its vision of a better world. Since 1947, the Foundation has awarded more than US$1.2 billion in humanitarian and educational grants, which are initiated and administered by local Rotary clubs and districts.
The Rotary International Theme for 2010-11 is "Building Communities / Bridging Continents." It accurately describes the ongoing challenges we face in our local as well as international Rotary programs. "Rotary has both a distinguished heritage and a bright future. My primary task as president is to enhance the vitality and viability of Rotary clubs and to enable them to succeed in the midst of societal changes. This is an important task because it is the clubs that address and alleviate the root problems of society and thereby make the world a better place."
Some of its international projects, supported by all Rotarians world-wide include: Project Link Link to world wide Rotary projects.
